v5-ImgMarketArea

The Market Area is the panel in the upper left corner of the display, just below the toolbar. The market area contains a tree of the markets in the current project. In this example, the current project has 6 markets, which have been dragged into a tree structure representing a possible website structure. The website is about coffee, the three silos are about specialty coffee, gourmet coffee, and organic coffee. The specialty coffee silo has been expanded by two proposed articles, arabica coffee and kopi luwak.

Projects are stored in files and may contain any number of markets. Each market is a collection of keywords and the websites they come from. Each market is represented in 3D view format and in spreadsheet format. You can change which market is being displayed just by clicking on it in the Market Area, and then clicking the Show Market button.

Markets may be created using the New Market from User or New Market from Selected Keywords commands. Markets may be copied by clicking on them and then clicking the Copy Market menu item. Markets may be deleted by clicking on them and then using the Delete Market button.

Clicking on a market and then clicking on Show Market displays it the 3DView area and in the keywords and sites tab areas. Markets may be dragged around in the Market Area and dropped on other markets, making them a child of that market. The dragging and dropping of markets can be used to construct a hierarchical tree that represents the design of a website at the site, silo, and article levels or the structure of a PPC campaign at the different compaign and ad group levels.

Markets can be tagged with an icon that represents its use at the different levels. Select the market and then use the Markets | Mark Market As command to select the level assigned to the market. This is a method of remembering how you wish to construct your website. For example, in the above picture, coffee has been tagged as a website, specialty coffee has been tagged as a silo, and arabica coffee has been tagged as an article.
